Discover the Holiness District

Step into Turin’s Holiness District, where faith, history, and compassion intertwine. This unique guided walking tour follows the footsteps of Don Bosco and the Social Saints who transformed the city into a beacon of solidarity and spiritual devotion.

Begin your journey in Valdocco, the cradle of Don Bosco’s mission and the Salesian world. Visit the Don Bosco Museum, his home and the courtyard where he played with his boys, and admire the majestic Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, the cornerstone of the Salesian community and its worldwide missionary work.

Continue through Turin’s historic centre to encounter the legacy of Saint Joseph Cottolengo and Saint Joseph Cafasso, who dedicated their lives to the poor, the sick, and the marginalized. Enter the beloved Sanctuary of La Consolata, a spiritual landmark filled with centuries of devotion and extraordinary ex-votos.

The itinerary ends in front of Palazzo Barolo, home of Marchesa Giulia di Barolo, a visionary noblewoman who founded the Sisters of Saint Anne. Her work and dedication embody the spirit of compassion that earned Turin the name of “District of Holiness” – the place with the highest number of Saints and Blesseds per square metre in the world.
